End Of The Road

This old home appeared off the side of the highway while traveling near the small hometime of my wife. Access to it was along a short dirt road which of course provided me with the name for the image. The old house is in rough shape and serves as a storage building now for old unwanted items like an old wood stove, tractor fluids and numerous small items needed to maintain farm equipment.

Once upon a time, children probably played here. Their laughter now gone, the home is returning slowly to the earth from which its material originally came. Forgotten and now mistreated, it’s usefulness for more than a shed is nearing an end. It is coming to the end of the road. This image is available only in black and white, printed on a soft matte paper that gives it a wonderful look.
