Hollow Rock Panorama

The hollow rock is located near Grand Portage, Minnesota which is about 5 miles south of the Canadian border.

The morning was cool and crisp as my brother and I made our way down to the Lake Superior shoreline in the dark. We setup our cameras and waited hoping for some sunlight to creep through on the horizon. We were rewarded with just a sliver of super bright sunlight when the sun finally appeared.

This image is an high dynamic range (HDR) photograph. Using the HDR technique, I was able to combine 7 images of differing exposures to create this wonderful moody image of the big lake called Gitchi Gumi.
