Multnomah Falls Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States. The water of the Falls drops 620 feet from its origin on Larch Mountain. There are two drops in the falls with a plunge pool located between them. The incredible bridge above the plunge pool was built in the early 1900’s as a means to ascend the cliff to reach the top of the falls high above. The juxtaposition of a man made object with an amazing wonder of nature like this falls, seem to make this picture. Taken while fall colours were evident in late 2006, the position of the falls and sun make the lower plunge pool appear almost black although the water is crystal clear. The fall colours themselves are intense and bring this image to life.
