Probing The Depths

I was actually photographing a field of hay bales when something made me turn my attention
to the drilling rig that had recently been erected on the edge of the field.

Using a long telephoto lens, I began watching the men as they added sections of pipe enabling the drill to work further into the ground. At about 15 minute intervals, the men would spring into action adding a new section to the drill.

It was time well spent watching them strain themselves on the equipment all in the interest
of probing the earth for our much relied upon oil.
